Product liability cases generally fall into one of two categories: manufacturing defects and design defects. Manufacturing defects exist when a company manufactures a product in a way that does not meet the company’s specifications. For example, a component part may be made a little too big or small to fit properly or perhaps a screw wasn’t properly tightened. Design defects exist when even though the product manufactured met the company’s internal specifications, the product is still unreasonably dangerous by design. An example of design defect would be a company knowingly making a product out of a material that was not strong enough for its intended purpose.
Product liability cases are often complex. For product liability attorneys, mastering the engineering and science behind the product and its failure is often just as important as mastering the law. At Champion Law, that’s exactly what we do.
The product liability attorneys at Champion Law roll up our sleeves, get our boots muddy and our fingernails dirty. It’s the only way we know to truly understand the products that injured our clients.
